More About Me
Yijun “Kitty” Guo, also known as NAGIKORI on social media, is a singer, musician, game designer, and illustrator.
Born in 1999 in Shanghai, China, she took to voice, piano, and acting lessons in kindergarten and developed a strong interest in music and art. In primary school, she joined the school’s choir, performing in both school and social events and participating in provice and national level competitions. In middle school, she started performing in musicals and recording her singing overs with Cubase in 8th grade.
In high school, she continued to perform in musicals, mostly taking male roles due to her voice range, and joined the school band. Meanwhile, she started music production using FL Studio. She also developed a strong interest in video games, especially rhythm and music simulation games, around the same time and dreamed of taking jobs related to music, audio, and games in the future.
At the end of her first year at NYU, she decided to transfer to the Music Technology program to pursue her passion for music and game audio. While studying music theory, music production, and various audio engineering techniques, she found her interest in sound design and game audio. After starting her master’s degree in the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU Tisch, she decided to work as a technical sound designer and game designer in the game industry.
Besides music, she is also interested in other forms of art, such as illustration and creative writing. She is a self-taught illustrator and character designer, which she has created six original characters.
She is interested in Japanese subcultures, such as idol culture and Jirai-kei. She can speak Chinese, English, and Japanese fluently.
